Turkish man sells funeral supplies online, makes 10,000 Lira per month

A Turkish entrepreneur from the Mediterranean Turkish province of Antalya has launched an unusual website which enables users to shop for funeral supplies from the comfort of their homes, while achieving about 10,000 TRY of monthly turnover. According to reports, Murat Aslanoğlu, the founder of 'cenaze market,' (funeral market) website started selling funeral supplies due to increasing demand from users, four years after he launched it to display funeral supplies that he sold in his store."We sell all kinds of funeral supplies through our website," Aslanoğlu was quoted as saying, who noted that their return policy enables customers to return goods they are not satisfied with. He also added that they ship to all cities throughout Turkey within two to three days. Aslanoğlu has said that the monthly turnover of the website ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 Turkish Lira, a decent amount where the minimum wage is 949.07 Turkish Lira. The website's motto is also an interesting one as it says: "Don't let death be the last thing on your mind, plan your funeral ahead." According to Aslanoğlu, this motto is based on the Turkish custom where the elderly plan ahead for their death and save money so as not to be a burden on their children. Aslanoğlu also noted that they have funeral supplies for non-Muslims to cater the needs of the community of tourists and local non-Muslims who have different requests during funerals.Amongst the supplies sold on the website are shrouds of all sizes, cotton, washcloths to wash the dead, wood, rose water and more. The website allows users to shop with their credit cards and offers monthly installment options. The most popular item on the website was identified as the shirt made for corpses, which is made from chambray fabric exclusively for the website and is sold for 45 Turkish Lira.
