Fire in tent camp kills 2 Syrian children in southern Turkey

Two Syrian children aged 3 and 2 were killed on Wednesday when a fire broke out in a tent camp for Syrians in southern Turkey. Emine and Hale Hammami, two sisters, were injured when the flames engulfed their tent at the refugee camp in southern the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş. They succumbed to heavy burns when they were admitted to hospital. The cause of the fire that destroyed seven tents is not known. Turkish media outlets reported that a short-circuited power switch led to the fire in the camp that houses 17,000 Syrians. A 3-year-old boy was killed and his sister was injured in January in another fire at the tent camp.
