3 police officers killed, five injured in PKK terrorist attacks in Turkey's southeast


A PKK terrorist hkilled two police officers and injured another after opening fire with an assault rifle on a police vehicle on Sunday in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakır province.The police officers who lost their lives were in critical condition when they were taken to a local hospital.The Diyarbakır Governorate also announced the attack in a statement which read, "On Sunday, August 30 2015, at around 1:00 p.m., our traffic police officers who ensure the safety on the roads have been attacked by PKK terrorists. In the attack, two police officers were injured, two of them being critically shot. Ahmet Kılıç was the officer who was critically wounded and lost his life. İlker Narin, the other injured officer is still being treated."An eyewitness who saw the incident described the terrorist as someone tall and wearing a white cap. The terrorist escaped from the scene in a white car along with a getaway driver.Police are currently searching for the suspects.In a separate incident in the Silopi district of the Şırnak province, one police officer was killed and four others were injured during an attack against an armored police vehicle by PKK terrorists.In an operation conducted in the Şırnak and Silopi city centers, three PKK militants were killed, while dozens of assault rifles and bullets were seized along with RPG rockets, anti-tank mines and hand grenades. Four PKK terrorists were also detained in the operations.On late Saturday, two police officers were also killed in a PKK hit-and-run attack as they were leaving a hospital in Şanlıurfa district.
