International Islam and Medicine Congress to be held in Adana


The 2015 International Islam and Medicine Congress will take place from Oct. 7-10 at Çukurova University in Adana. Organized by Çukurova Development Agency (ÇKA), Adana Governorate, Çukurova University (ÇÜ) and Tıbb-ı Nebevi Foundation, the organization will welcome 17 international and 143 local scientists. Moreover, Sare Davutoğlu, the wife of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who is a gynecologist, is also expected to attend the congress. During the four-day congress, a total of 160 scientists will present 97 academic presentations, which will be in written and oral form, on medicine, dentistry, pharmaceuticals, theology, agriculture and veterinary medicine. Seventy-nine presentations out of the total 97 presentations will be in Turkish, while 12 of them will be in English and six of them will be in Arabic. Apart from scientific events, the congress will also host social activities. On Oct.7, Çukurova University Congress Center will host a presentation on the history of Adana and the event will be followed by ney concert and sema show.

Speaking at the press conference, Adana Governor Mustafa Büyük said the organization will reveal the latest developments in modern medicine such as herbs, healthy diet, psychology, organ transplants offering references to the Islamic sensibilities and responsibilities. Calligraphy and ornamented works as well as old medical tools and hand written medical books will be displayed at the exhibitions. On Oct. 13, the last day of the congress, the Adana Governorate will organize a city tour in Adana as well as in Hatay for scientists attending the congress.
