Bus accident in Turkey's Çorum and Iğdır provinces kill woman, injure 40


A woman was killed when a coach travelling through Turkey's Çorum province came off the road and tumbled down an embankment late Sunday.Another 40 passengers, including foreigners, and the driver were injured on the service between Istanbul to Iğdır in eastern Turkey, according to emergency officials.The accident happened as the driver lost control during the 22-hour journey near the village of Ardıç. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.The bus appears to have left the road and rolled down a 2 meter (7 foot) embankment before coming to rest on its side.Emergency staff worked through the night to free the wounded. Most were taken to Osmancık State Hospital apart from 10 seriously wounded who were sent to hospital in Çorum city, around 200 kilometers (125 miles) east of Ankara.
