A civilian has been killed, and a police officer has been wounded by PKK terrorist attack in southeastern Mardin province early Wednesday.Hospital officials said the officer's injuries were not life-threatening.The bomb was detonated on Wednesday morning in the center of Dargeçit, around 43 kilometers (27 miles) north of the Syrian border, as people headed to work. The target was an armored police vehicle.Police said the car was stolen by the PKK three weeks earlier.The security forces have launched an operation to catch those responsible.In a separate incident, a Turkish soldier died at hospital after being wounded during an operation against the terrorist PKK group in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakir.Another soldier was wounded and five terrorists were killed in the operation in Diyarbakir's Silvan town Wednesday, the provincial governor said in a statement.The statement also said the operations did not involve any air interventions except surveillance activity.It added that counter-terrorism operations will continue "resolutely" to ensure the safety of citizens.The PKK - considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU - resumed its terrorist campaign in late July. More than 150 members of the security forces have been killed in the violence while the military says it has killed around 2,000 terrorists.
