4 children injured as PKK terrorists bomb cultural center, library in Turkey’s southeast


Continuing its offensive against civilians in southeastern provinces, PKK terrorists on Friday attacked a cultural center and library in Şırnak province with handmade explosives and Molotov cocktails, while many civilians, including children, were inside the building. The attack left four children and two others wounded.In the Yeni Mahalle neighborhood of Şırnak province, terrorists launched an offensive against the Şırnak Cultural Center and Public library, while students and personnel were inside. According to reports in the media, 17 students were present in the library at the time of the attack. Handmade explosives and Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building. People inside hurriedly left the area and were rushed to the hospital. Four children, who were studying in the library, were wounded due to the fire.An operation was launched immediately to find the perpetrators. The perpetrators are assumed to be militants of the PKK's urban youth branch, the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H).Security forces were reportedly carrying out an operation in the neighborhood to close ditches dug by the PKK and eliminate barricades set up on the streets.As part of the terrorist organization's new strategy, terrorists launch attacks against historic sites, civilian houses, hospitals and schools without avoiding harm to children, women or the elderly.Late on Wednesday, PKK terrorists opened fire on a residence in the Dargeçit district of Mardin province, killing two people and wounding two others.

 The house reportedly belonged to a member of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), who was identified as the provincial head of Dargeçit, Beşir Kılınç. Kılınç and his daughter died in the attack, but two of Kılınç's relatives survived.Also, a handmade explosive was found on Monday in the yard of a nursery school in Şırnak. As security officers arrived at the scene upon being notified, terrorists opened fire on them without taking children into consideration.Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu mentioned the new PKK strategy, stressing that the PKK orders youths to attack hospitals and schools. Davutoğlu said: "The terrorist organization and some political circles that are controlled by them have taught hate speech to affect the youths. Children and youths aged 8 through 17 who need to go to school are given Molotov cocktails."
