PKK terror attack leaves 2 policemen dead, 10 wounded in southeastern Turkey


PKK terrorists attacked a police service bus in Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province on Monday, killing two police officers and wounding five others, local sources reported.The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that two police officers were killed and 10 others were wounded in the attack.The attack took place at 6:30 p.m. local time, when terrorists launched a rocket to a minibus carrying police officers.Wounded officers were transferred to Şırnak State Hospital for treatment.The police launched an operation to capture the terrorists.Turkish security forces have killed 544 PKK terrorists in three districts of southeastern provinces of Diyarbakır and Şırnak since counter-terror operations began in Dec. 15, according to Turkish General Staff's latest statement issued Saturday. The PKK, considered a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed attacks against the Turkish state late July last year.
