Turkey employs 30,000 new teachers

To the joy of teachers unemployed for years, the National Education Ministry announced the assignment of 30,000 new teachers Wednesday. The unavailability of assignments for teachers with rising numbers of university graduates has long plagued the education community.Teachers have to wait for years to be assigned, and daunted by unemployment, some prefer working in other sectors. The phenomenon is attributed to the large number of education faculties at universities with a growing number of graduates.Unassigned teachers claim that the ministry prefers hiring substitute teachers that work for less money.
