Majority of Daesh victims are Muslims, sister-in-law of ex UK PM Laureen Booth says

British journalist Laureen Booth said that a majority of those killed by Daesh terrorists are Muslims, while praising Turkey's role in welcoming Syrian crisis, calling the country a 'world leader.'

Booth, who is also the sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair spoke at Adana Science and Technology University, and said that Daesh targets Muslims and that 95 percent of their victims are Muslims.

"They attack Muslims in Turkey, Iraq, Syria and other places" Booth said, and added that Muslims should resist.

Booth also praised Turkey's efforts regarding the handling of Syrian refugees and said she had the chance to speak with refugees in southern Adana province.

"This is compassion, this is true brotherhood" Booth said, and added that Turkey is a leader in hosting refugees.

Underscoring that she has been to 32 countries in the past 10 years, Booth said that Turkey was the most impressive out of all countries and that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the 'bravest' leader amongst Muslims.

She noted that Muslim people throughout the world are watching Turkey and are proud of Turkey's success.Booth converted to Islam in 2010 and is an activist who visits universities throughout the world to speak on topics including: Islamophobia, the media and Islam, women, and issues related to the Palestinian cause.
