An elementary school teacher was arrested on Tuesday in eastern Erzurum province for molesting at least 10 students enrolled in fifth grade.

Last year, the students reportedly told the incidents to their families, who filed criminal complaints against the teacher.

The provincial directorate of National Education launched an administrative inquiry about the incident and the teacher was suspended from duty.

The teacher was arrested on Monday on charges of molesting small children and was then transferred to prison.

The investigation on the subject continues.
