All of the fifth graders in Turkey's elementary schools will start to be exposed to an aptitude test to measure their future potential, as per a new regulation, which is expected to be signed between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Tuesday.

The regulation will also require students to focus on sports activities in line with their skills. It aims to boost students' self-confidence and social skills while helping them to balance their mental and physical health. The plan also foresees the development of Turkish sports and raising up the next generations of healthy sports enthusiasts.

Accordingly, the students who desire to excel further in a specific sports branch will be able to sign up in courses outside school hours under the supervision of teachers and trainers working in the ministry of education. A relevant regulation will be reportedly prepared soon to actualize the plan.
