A Turkish police officer heroically shot one of the terrorist who carried out an attack in Istanbul's Atatürk airport on Tuesday.

Yasin Duran, the police officer who shot and injured the terrorist as he was running after a crowd, was injured after the terrorist detonated his suicide vest.

At least 43 people were killed, dozens injured in the triple suicide bombing and gun attack at Istanbul's main Atatürk airport on late Tuesday which had many similarities with the deadly attacks carried out in Brussels in March.

While there was no claims for the responsibility of the attack, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said that initial indications suggest the Daesh terror group was behind the attack but the investigation is still underway.
