Civilian killed in PKK bomb attack in southeastern Turkey

A civilian was killed Thursday in an explosion of a bomb planted by PKK terrorists in southeastern Mardin province's Nusaybin district.

Mehmet Sait Malak, 48, was killed in front of his residence when the bomb detonated in Yenişehir, a neighborhood that is currently under curfew. Malak died at the scene and his body was taken to Nusaybin State Hospital morgue for autopsy, the officials said.

The PKK -- also listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015. Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists killed.
