One child killed, another severely injured after blast in southeastern Turkey

One child was killed, another was severely injured on Tuesday after a blast rocked a site where the kids were hauling steel out of a debris pile in southeastern Mardin province's Nusaybin district.

Both children were severely injured and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital following the explosion. Despite all efforts, one of the children died from his wounds while the other one's condition remains stable.

Officials said the cause of the explosion is unknown but say it might be caused by an improvised explosive device planted inside the nearby building by PKK terrorists.
