Shotgun murders kill 5 in Adana
A suspect wielding a shotgun killed two brothers, their spouses and the 8-year-old son of one of the brothers in a grisly murder in the southern city of Adana yesterday.
The suspect, İbrahim A., 40, was captured by police hours after the incident in the city's Kozan district.
Police identified the victims as Mehmet Doğan, 38, his brother Hüseyin Doğan, Hüseyin Doğan's 8-year-old son, Ayşe Ayrancı and Fatma Yavuz, the wives of the two brothers. They were shot while they were sitting in the living room of Hüseyin Doğan's house. Görkem Temizkan, Hüseyin Doğan's 20-year-old stepson managed to flee when the shots fired and it was him who alerted security forces to the massacre.
The suspect remained silent in his interrogation while eyewitnesses claimed he had a dispute over an unpaid debt with Mehmet Doğan.
