Forty workers at a factory producing industrial resin were hospitalized for smoke inhalation in a fire in the northwestern city of Tekirdağ on Wednesday.

Dozens more were treated at the city's hospitals while authorities said the fire, resulting from an accident, did not cause a chemical leak, which was suspected in the beginning.

The fire was contained by firefighters a few hours later.
