The Turkish Red Crescent's Kilis bureau crossed the border into Syria and visited the children of Azaz yesterday, distributing toys and other presents as part of April 23 Children's Day activities.

The Red Crescent Kilis Chairman Faruk Erdinç said their efforts were directed at making the lives of the chief victims of the Syrian war, children, a little bit more bearable.

He said the joy of making the children smile was immense, and that it is important that these "desperate voices" are heard around the globe.
