A book analyzing and criticizing the July 15 failed coup attempt's coverage in western media outlets entitled "July 15 in western media" has been published.

The book, which offers a critical analysis of "hypocritical coverage" of the coup attempt by international media outlets, shares glimpses of news stories, editorials and other pieces of writing.

It argues that major international news outlets "manipulated" many of the facts through the use of wrongful information and biased expressions.

The book has been published in cooperation with the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) USA and Turkey Studies Center and will be distributed to libraries, communication faculties and other places free of charge, to enable readers to get insight into the coverage of the night, deemed by many in Turkey to be "one of the longest nights ever."

Agents of the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), which infiltrated ranks of the Turkish military, attempted to overthrow the democratically-elected government using tanks, warplanes and helicopters on July 15 last year. The coup plotters bombed the parliament and other locations but their attempt failed.

A total of 250 people have lost their lives, while over 2,200 people were left wounded.
