A police officer shot Kadir Küçüköner, a prosecutor, in his office in the southern city of Antalya yesterday. Küçüköner was seriously wounded in the attack.

Quoting judiciary officials in Antalya, Turkish media outlets said the police officer was the husband of a court clerk. When the prosecutor refused to grant extra leave for the clerk, she quarreled with him and then called her husband.

The husband then stormed the prosecutor's room and shot him five times in the arms and chest. The assailant was detained at the scene.
