Temperatures dip below freezing in eastern Turkey


Temperatures in the east of the country have dipped below zero degrees Celsius over the weekend, but still are above seasonal averages according to the Meteorological Department.

Overnight, temperatures in Erzurum, Ağrı, Kars and Ardahan fell below freezing, while they were a little above zero degrees in the rest of the region. However, during the day, temperatures rose well above 10 degrees Celsius, reaching up to 17 degrees Celsius in Tunceli.

Still, frost covered most of the forests of Allahuekber and Soğanlı mountains.
