Storm, strong winds to effect most parts of Turkey until weekend

Storm and strong winds will be effective in most parts of Turkey starting from Wednesday evening, the Turkish State Meteorological Service (TSMS) said in a statement.

Accordingly, a low pressure system will start moving from the northwestern parts of the country, covering the west on Thursday and reaching the south, east and southeast on Friday.

Winds up to 100 kilometers per hour are expected to blow initially from the southwest, and will later switch to northwestern and northeastern winds.

The statement warned citizens against disruptions in transport, roof and tree collapses and poisoning due to flue gas.
