Syrians charged with murder of Syrian couple

Police in Istanbul detained two Syrian nationals in connection with the murder of a wealthy Syrian-Lebanese couple in the city.

Bodies of 40-year-old Nisrin Kiridi and her Lebanese husband Muhammad were found dumped on the roadside in Istanbul's Arnavutköy district on Feb. 13. Their mouths were duct-taped.

The couple was in real estate business and a search in their posh residence in city's Başakşehir district found traces of blood and duct tapes.

The two unidentified suspects are currently in custody as police continue searching for the couple's 10-year-old boy.

Media reports claimed that Nisrin Kiridi was pregnant at the time of the murder and that suspects robbed the couple in a break-in before killing them.
