Attending the same school with your twin can be fun for obvious reasons. For teachers at Cudibey middle school in the city of Trabzon, it is a headache, though they do not complain as most twins are of different genders. The school hosts 19 sets of twins and two set of triplets. Adding to the confusion, there are more than two set of twins in almost every grade, from five to eight. Still, this is less than a school in the western city of İzmir which hosts 33 sets of twins.

Though they are of different grades, the twin and triple students set up their own "clique," spending time together during the breaks.

The school's principal, Olcay Bulut, said the number of twin students has increased over the past few years. "I had a photo shoot with one of the twin students one day and asked her the next day if she had the printed photo. When she told me it was not her that I took photo with, I realized it was her twin and found out the large number of twins attending our school. I and other teachers always confuse the identical twins no matter what," he said.

Gizem Karacelep, one of the identical twins, says she often disagrees with her twin, especially about their hairstyles while her twin Gamze says they can share secrets and feel the same thing. "When she accidentally hurts herself, I can feel her pain," she said.
