Türkiye announces 2026 YKS university placement results

Türkiye’s 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) placement results were announced Tuesday, with candidates able to access their results through the official website of the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

ÖSYM President Bayram Ali Ersoy announced on NSosyal that the placement process had been completed and congratulated candidates who secured places in higher education programs.

Candidates can check their placement results through ÖSYM’s official website using their Turkish ID numbers and candidate passwords.

No separate placement results document will be issued or sent to candidates by mail.

According to ÖSYM, candidates who earned the right to enroll in a higher education program will be able to complete their registration on Aug. 24-28. Electronic registration will be available on Aug. 24-26.

Candidates who register electronically will need to follow the documents and deadlines announced by their respective universities.

Ersoy also said candidates who were not placed in a higher education program would have another opportunity through the additional preference process.

He congratulated students who completed the exam preparation process, as well as teachers and families who supported them throughout the process.

A total of 2.43 million candidates applied for the 2026 YKS, according to the ÖSYM. Of the 2,425,560 applicants, 1,324,487 were women, and 1,101,073 were men, while 921,225 were taking the exam for the first time.

Ersoy said the youngest applicant was 16 years old and the oldest was 87, with the largest number of applications coming from 18-year-olds at 696,766. A total of 20,159 candidates aged 50 and above also applied for the exam.
