2 soldiers, 2 police officers killed in PKK terror attack in southeastern Diyarbakır


Four security officers, including two soldiers and two police officers, were killed in clashes with the PKK continuing from Thursday night in the Sur district of southeastern Diyarbakır province. The four officers succumbed to their wounds on Friday. In a statement published on its website, the Turkish General Staff said that three security officers were critically injured in the attack, and that the "injured were rushed to the hospital, but they succumbed to their wounds despite all interventions, dying at around 5:45 a.m.." Security officers continue their operations in the district in which barricades were removed and ditches were filled.Meanwhile, the Diyarbakır Governorate announced the same day that security forces captured a vehicle carrying around 500 kilograms of handmade explosives, Kalashnikovs and bullets in the province's Dicle district. Two suspects who have engaged in combat with security officers were also detained.
