The so-called area leader of the PKK terror organization in Turkey's southeastern Mardin province was killed in an airstrike carried out by the Turkish military on Tuesday.Faruk Atan, the high-profile terrorist who used the codename 'Botan', was killed along with other PKK leaders in the airstrike that targeted the terrorists in the countryside of Mardin.According to intelligence sources, Atan was preparing for terror acts in Mardin and adjacent Şırnak provinces. The intelligence was reportedly given by someone inside the terrorist group alongside Atan, whom were getting together to determine a future strategy for terrorist attacks against security forces in Nusaybin and İdil districts where operations are ongoing.Previously on September 16, 2015, İsmail Aydemir (codenamed Baran), the so-called eastern Tunceli (Dersim) province area leader of PKK, was again killed by an airstrike along with regional commanders of the terror group.
