US-backed PYD abducts 6 children in northeastern Syria
The Syrian affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), reportedly abducted six female children last week, in two separate towns in an area under its control in northeastern Syria.
Local sources told Anadolu Agency (AA) that two of the children were abducted on May 4 while they were headed to a language course, and taken for military training in the village of Tal Barak, some 60 kilometers from Qamishlo. The children's mothers staged a three-day sit-in in front of the building where the PYD registers newly recruited militants, yet they did not receive a response.
A child named Y.İ.K was abducted in Kobani on May 5, and three other children were kidnapped in front of their schools on May 9 by PYD militants. Local sources indicated that the father of one child, who may have been smuggled to Turkey through an illegal route, was arrested by the PYD.
