Turkish military jets kill 5 PKK terrorists, destroy shelters

Turkish military jets killed 5 PKK terrorists and destroyed three shelters as well as a gun emplacement in an air strike in northern Iraq Thursday, the military announced.

The military took immediate action after receiving an intel about the PKK terrorists.

The statement made by the Turkish General Staff said that the airstrikes took place between 03:15 – 04:20 local time.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July, killing more than 430 members of security in that period.

Ankara has made its determined stance against the PKK terror organization clear, vowing to continue operations until all threats of terror are eradicated.
