Turkish jets kill at least 20 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq

Turkish jets hit PKK targets, killing at least 20 terrorists in northern Iraq, security sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, Turkish jets carried out airstrikes on PKK terrorist targets by F-16 jets and will continue the operations against the terrorists.

This was the first time Turkish Air Forces carried out counter-terror operations against the PKK in northern Iraq, since the failed coup attempt on July 15.

The PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, E.U. and the U.S., has training camps near the Turkish border in northern Iraq. It resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
