Main opposition leader ready to help explain FETÖ coup attempt to West

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reportedly offered ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) chairman, Prime Minister and Binali Yıldırım, to explain the coup attempt orchestrated by the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) to the West.

According to report in the Hürriyet daily yesterday, Kılıçdaroğlu made the offer when the two leaders met at the CHP's headquarters in Ankara. Calling the Western media's attitude hypocritical, Kılıçdaroğlu reportedly requested he help Yıldırım explain "how the coup attempt was made against the parliamentary system of Turkey."

Having recently met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Kılıçdaroğlu declared his support in the fight against FETÖ and his position with democratically elected government. He said in a statement: "The spread of FETÖ within the state and the Turkish Armed Forces to such a degree is something we should all think about."
