A court on Friday ordered the properties of Fethullah Gülen, the U.S.-based leader of the Gülen Movement, be confiscated as part of an investigation launched into the group following a coup attempt on July 15.

According to a statement released by the Adana Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) members were sued after an investigation found that the members allegedly forged documents during registration of real estate properties to provide financial support to the group.

The court ruled to confiscateGülen's properties in addition to the properties of fugitive suspects Ömer Ekinci, Kemal Elibal and Cemal Soncu.

A statement from the court said the fugitives, who have arrest warrants issued for them, have not responded to the court's requests to attend the trials. They are reported to be abroad.
