FETÖ pilots botched air ops on PKK targets

An investigation launched by two different Public Prosecutor's Offices has revealed that Air Force pilots linked with the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) did not target PKK terrorists in 19 separate air offensives, despite being sent target coordinates by the Air Forces Commandership.Turkish Yeni Şafak daily claimed that the Public Prosecutor's Offices in the provinces of Elazığ and Tunceli opened an investigation into the pilots' failure to hit 150 PKK targets in 19 different airstrikes in August 2015, and deduced that jets flown by Gülenist pilots, deployed from the airbases in Malatya and Diyarbakır, targeted other areas in the Munzur and Pülümür regions of Turkey instead of the target coordinates they were given. The investigation is now being extended due to concerns that the coordinates were leaked to PKK terrorists before the air strikes. Several military officers have been arrested, including those who informed the press about the botched operations. A putschist pilot who took part in the July 15 coup attempt by FETÖ has confessed that FETÖ ordered him not to kill PKK terrorists, revealing how the cult-like group hindered the fight against the PKK.
