40 DAESH terrorists killed in Turkish airstrikes


The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) killed 40 DAESH terrorists in airstrikes on Thursday as part of Operation Euphrates Shield following two DAESH rocket attacks on the border town of Kilis.The Turkish military said Thursday that Turkish jets conducted 20 airstrikes against targets in northern Syria, killing 40 DAESH terrorists. In addition, DAESH targets were hit with howitzers rounds.The Turkish Air Forces carried out airstrikes against DAESH targets in the Suvayrin, Al Athariyah, and Tall Ar regions and destroyed five buildings used as command posts and weapon stations, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.Following the Turkish offensive against DAESH-held areas with fighter jets and howitzers, the village of Kadrish was captured from DAESH, the military further said.Since the beginning of Operation Euphrates Shield, 1,077 detected targets have been hit, the statement added. Operation Euphrates Shield was launched on Aug. 24 to secure full border security and clear DAESH terrorists from northern Syria. Free Syrian Army fighters, backed by the Turkish military, quickly took control of Jarablus from DAESH. Turkey has said the operation aims to bolster border security, support coalition forces and eliminate the threat posed by terror organizations, especially DAESH.
