Three PKK terrorists arrested in Istanbul in stadium attack plot

On Saturday, security forces arrested three PKK terrorists who were preparing to attack a football stadium in Istanbul's Kadıköy district.

According to Daily Sabah, police sources said the terrorists were preparing to attack Fenerbahçe Football Club's Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium on a game day. Meanwhile, the sources added that the terrorists confessed they were preparing to carry out attacks and that they were also exploring the area near the Kasımpaşa Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium on the European side of Istanbul and the newly opened Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over the Bosporus.

One of the terrorists, Sipan K., allegedly came from the Lice district of southeastern Diyarbakır province to carry out attacks against the police in various neighborhoods of Istanbul. Security forces seized various weapons at the terrorists' addresses. The three men were later arrested and charged by an Istanbul court for being members of a terror organization.
