As part of the ongoing investigation against the Gülenist Terror Cult (FETÖ) following their vicious coup attempt on July 15, Cabinet members have compiled a comprehensive report on FETÖ's activities throughout the Balkan countries, which reveals that nearly 20,000 students in the Balkans are being educated in FETÖ schools.

According to Milliyet daily's report, the Cabinet had presented the report to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which revealed widespread FETÖ activities in the Balkans, with Albania and Kosovo being the primary countries. Turkey and the Balkan states have exemplary relations due to the historical, cultural and humanitarian ties, and the latest report presented to the president had displayed the seriousness of the Gülenist threat on the existing relations. The report, which addresses 12 Balkan countries, had indicated that Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and also Romania are the major countries that the Gülenist terror group focuses on.

According to the report compiled by the Cabinet members, a total of 19,660 students in the Balkans attend FETÖ schools, as Albania consists of two Gülenist universities, 10 secondary schools, four primary schools and five kindergartens. Albania, which has the largest number of students attending Gülenist schools [6,500 students], also has 10 FETÖ dormitories. Bosnia and Herzegovina follows Albania as the second major location for Gülenist establishments, which has 2,800 students attending FETÖ schools. There is currently one university, four secondary schools, six primary schools and four kindergartens along with 10 dormitories in Bosnia. Furthermore, the number of students attending FETÖ schools are similar in Kosovo, where 2,500 students attend. Kosovo also has four secondary schools controlled and administrated by the Gülenist terror cult, while three primary schools and three kindergartens are owned by the FETÖ.

The report further provides information on the FETÖ establishment in Romania where there is one university and eight secondary schools along with two kindergartens. While 2,200 students in Romania attend Gülenist schools, Macedonia has only 2,000 students attending FETÖ schools. According to the Cabinet's report, Macedonia currently consists of five secondary schools, one primary and one kindergarten, as Moldova has five secondary schools with only 1,600 students attending. The interest toward Gülenist schools further drops in Bulgaria for instance, as the report stated only 1,100 students attend the terror group's schools and that there is one secondary and one primary school. As Montenegro is listed as the least attracted country by the FETÖ, the report revealed that there is only one dorm in the country with only 10 students residing. Hungary has 500, Ukraine has 350 and Croatia has 200 students attending FETÖ affiliated institutions, while Serbia has only 80 students. Along with the schools, there are 33 NGOs by the Gülenist terror cult throughout the 12 Balkan states. Twelve of those are seemingly conducting educational activities, while 11 are conducting social and cultural activities and eight of them are newspapers and publishing.
