July 15 investigation commission set to hear Russian academic Dugin and former chiefs of staff

The Parliamentary Research Commission, formed to investigate the Gülenist Terror Group's (FETÖ) failed July 15 coup attempt, is set to hear Russian President Vladimir Putin's foreign policy consultant, academic Alexander Dugin and former Chiefs of Staff İlker Başbuğ, Işık Koşaner and Necdet Özel along with other prominent names including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's brother-in-law, Ziya İlgen.

The commission consists of 15 members that represent all four political parties in Parliament and started its work on Oct. 7. During their meeting on Oct. 13, the commission announced the names of the people that will testify for the rest of this month as part of the investigation. Accordingly, on Oct. 18 the commission will be hearing: Second Chief of State Ümit Dündar, former Interior Minister Efkan Ala, former Minister Mehmet Ağar, journalist Fehmi Koru and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akgündüz. The following day, Chief of Staff Yaşar Büyükanıt, Tunceli University's Yavuz Çobanoğlu, Head of the Supreme Council of Religion Prof. Dr. Ekrem Keleş, journalist and author Yavuz Selim Demirağ and the former Head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs Ali Bardakoğlu will speak.

On Oct. 25, the commission is scheduled to hear from: Chief of Staff İlker Başbuğ, Şehir University Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Büyükkara, journalist Nedim Şener, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Head Gülten Kışanak, the former head of Turkish National Police Mehmet Kılıçlar, former Chief of Staff Işık Koşaner, Russian Head of State Putin's consultant Aleksader Dugin, former deputy chief of Turkish National Police Emin Arslan, and Sönmez Kutlu. Tayyibe Gülek from the Institution of Theology is scheduled to speak on Oct. 26 and former Chief of Staff Necdet Özel, brother-in-law of President Erdoğan, Ziya İlgen, former chief of MİT (Turkish National Intelligence Organization) Emre Taner, former deputy chief of MİT Fikret Acar and Zonguldak head of Police Department Osman Ak on Oct. 27.
