A mortar attack by PKK terrorists killed three soldiers and injured five others in southeastern Hakkari province on Saturday.

The attack took place in Çukurca district bordering Iraq, a mountainous region where PKK terrorists frequently use to cross into Turkey from their bases in northern Iraq.

One of the injured soldiers was reportedly in serious condition.

Wounded soldiers were transferred to hospital.
