Daily Sabah explains July 15 coup attempt in Westminster

Daily Sabah will be briefing the Parliament of the United Kingdom Tuesday on the developments before and after the failed July 15 military coup attempt by the Gülenist Terrorist Group (FETÖ) as part of its global drive to underline the dangers posed by the cult.

Panels, first of which will take place Tuesday at the Churchill Room in the British Parliament, aim to counter the disinformation campaign initiated by the secretive group. Tuesday's panel will be followed by similar events in Washington, D.C., Brussels and Berlin in the ensuing weeks and months and will inform people's representatives, columnists, journalists, think tanks and businessmen on the threats Turkey has faced from FETÖ.

Government representatives have already launched a global push to inform their counterparts, with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to ministers holding meetings on FETÖ. Daily Sabah's drive aims to address the questions of civil society representatives on the continuing dangers lurking in the shadows. The leader of the cult, Fetullah Gülen, who currently resides in a compound in Pennsylvania, U.S., continues to evade Turkish justice due to the U.S.'s failure to comply with the extradition treaty between the two countries.

Panelists attending the meeting in London, "July 15, Coup Attempt in Turkey: Reality and Facts," will include Daily Sabah columnist Burhanettin Duran, who will make a presentation on the Gülen Movement and analyze the July 15 coup attempt. Also present will be the head of Sabah daily's economy desk, Şeref Oğuz, who will make a presentation on the state of the Turkish economy in the post-July 15 era. Daily Sabah's ombudsman İbrahim Altay will share the true story of a FETÖ member while Daily Sabah op-ed editor and columnist Meryem İlayda Atlas will speak on the meaning of "coup" for Turkey and its democracy. The panel will be moderated by A Haber news channel's Duygu Leloğlu.

The panels in Washington will take place later in November while those in Brussels and Berlin will be held in December and January respectively.
