FETÖ schools in Iraq to be transferred to education ministry

Iraqi authorities have said that the administration of schools formerly linked with the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) will be transferred to the central government's education ministry.

According to information received from the Iraq's Ministry of Education, the process for transferring the administration of nine schools, which provide their education in English, to the ministry, has been started.

The schools will be administered by the Iraqi officers and teachers, and the curriculums will be in coordination with Turkey's Embassy in Baghdad.

The regulation to transfer the FETÖ schools to the central government's education ministry was passed as a bill on Oct. 16.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Turkey's ambassador to Baghdad said that diplomatic coordination with Iraq and the coordination between both countries' education ministries and the Turkish Maarif Foundation, which has been newly established to carry out educational activities, have been going on for nearly two and a half years abroad.
