The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Öztürk Yılmaz on Tuesday said everyone is aware of the fact that the U.S. is the force behind the Democratic Union Party (PYD), a Syrian offshoot of the PKK terrorist organization.

Öztürk also acknowledged Turkey's Euphrates Shield Operation against Daesh has so far been militarily successful.Speaking at the Parliamentary planning and budget committee, which convened on Tuesday evening for the budget planning of Turkey's Foreign Ministry, Yılmaz said Turkey should have a comprehensive strategy in Syria to prevent formation of a corridor in northern Syria to be used by the PYD and YPG terrorist groups.

"Everyone knows the U.S. is behind the PYD. Turkey should have a comprehensive strategy in Syria to prevent a PYD corridor and that strategy should include places like, Afrin," Yılmaz said. ‘‘If we have a strategy about Afrin, we would not have to worry about the PYD corridor in Syria,'' he added.

Adding that Turkey's Euphrates Shield Operation, aiming todefeat Daesh in Syria, has been militarily successful, Öztürk said Turkey should now work on strategies that will allow a political solution to end the civil war in Syria.
