The Turkish army released a statement on late Tuesday saying that it had lost contact with two of its soldiers involved in Operation Euphrates Shield in Syria's northern border area.In a written statement, the Turkish General Staff said that the two soldiers could not be reached since 3:30 p.m. (12:30GMT).The army is still searching for the soldiers in the region, the statement added.According to Turkish Prime Ministry sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, General Staff Chief Hulusi Akar had called to brief Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on the issue.Meanwhile, the Turkish Air Forces conducted airstrikes against Daesh positions in the regions of Bzagah and Zarzur.Two shelters used by Daesh militants were destroyed in the airstrikes.

In addition, the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and Red Crescent continued to deliver humanitarian aid and food to those in need.Operation Euphrates Shield was launched in late August by Turkey with the aim of improving security along its southeastern and eastern borders. Additionally Turkey is supporting coalition forces with armor, artillery, and jets in order to eliminate terrorist threats along its borders.
