Turkish jets hit PKK in northern Iraq, 29 killed, 16 injured

The PKK terrorist organization has suffered a major blow in its northern Iraq bastion of Qandil Mountains on Sunday, as 29 terrorists were killed and 16 others injured in airstrikes by Turkish jets.

The Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement on Wednesday that the toll of the airstrikes on the PKK's side was determined during a field scanning conducted in the area on Nov. 29.

The airstrike also coincided with the so-called day of establishment of the PKK, it added.

The PKK was reportedly founded with a meeting in the Lice district of southeastern Diyarbakır province on Nov. 27, 1978.
