A Turkish soldier fighting Daesh terrorists was killed in car bomb attack near Syria's northern al-Bab town, Turkish military said in a statement on Monday, while 11 Daesh terrorists were killed in clashes on Sunday.

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) destroyed 156 Daesh terrorist targets in Syria, including shelters, ammunition depots and command-and-control centers, the statement said, confirming that eleven Daesh terrorists were killed and four FSA fighters were injured during the clashes.

Meanwhile, it added that Turkish jets destroyed an additional 52 Daesh targets in airstrikes as part of the operation.

The moves are part of Operation Euphrates Shield, which began on Aug. 24 to rid Syria's northern border area of terrorist groups as Daesh and PYD/YPG. It aims to improve Turkey's security, support anti-Daesh coalition forces and eliminate the terror threat along Turkey's Syrian border using Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters backed by Turkish armor, artillery, and jets.
