Some 1,682 detained in nationwide anti-terror ops
As part of ongoing counterterrorism operations across Turkey, some 1,682 people were detained between Dec. 19 and Dec. 26, Turkey's Interior Ministry confirmed.
Around 220 counterterror operations over the last week took 1,096 suspected members of the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), 508 suspected PKK members and 78 Daesh members into custody. The ministry said 78 PKK members out of the 508, have been arrested.
The Interior Ministry statement also revealed that the nationwide operations saw four terrorists killed, five wounded and nine more were neutralized.
Additionally, 60 kilograms of explosives, 12 hand grenades and 36 various guns were seized while three terrorist shelters and 18 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were destroyed.
