FETÖ, PKK, Daesh cooperation revealed in parliamentary report
With the Parliamentary Investigation Committee's report expected to be completed tomorrow, the committee's draft report revealed the close cooperation and affiliation between the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), the PKK and Daesh, especially immediately prior to and after the failed July 15 coup attempt. According to the report, the close affiliation between FETÖ and the PKK was presented following the European representative of the PKK terrorist organization Zana Abad's social media message on April 26, 2016 saying, "Everyone knows that I don't like Fetullah Gülen. However,the cooperation of revolutionary people [referring to the PKK] with Gülen against Daesh, the AK Party (Justice and Development Party) is a well-directed move." Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said back in late October 2016 that "We have a top PKK figure on our hands, while confessing that the night of July 14, a day before the coup attempt, they [PKK] were instructed via radio message not to carry out any attacks for a month - until three days after the coup was thwarted they were given new orders."
The draft report compiled by the Parliamentary Investigation Committee, 936 pages long, drew attention to FETÖ's "Masonic structure," as well as stating that the first establishment of the terror group was during the 1970s. The report further reveals FETÖ's terrorist organizational structure within state institutions, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and the private sector as well as its affiliation with other terrorist groups including the PKK and Daesh. According to the report, the PKK had ordered its affiliates to not launch attacks against the Turkish Armed Forces during the coup to strengthen the putschists. The report included radio conversations by the PKK terrorists saying to be "careful with attacks against the Turkish military and to stop ordinary attacks against the soldiers until now" in efforts "to strengthen the putschist soldiers." Meanwhile, the U.S. support for the PKK-affiliate Democratic Union Party (PYD) remains a hot topic and point of tension in Turkish–U.S. relations. The report revealed further striking information about U.S. and NATO support for the PKK, which are listed as a terror group in the EU and the U.S.
According to information received from Şırnak Gendarmerie's internet tip-line and included in the report, senior PKK officials Müslüm İke and Fehmi Atalay in northern Iraq said that "The U.S. and the NATO has pledged to [the PKK] that the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would be toppled during the fall of 2016. Either President Erdoğan would leave the post himself or an uprising more severe than the Gezi event will happen to topple the president." The report also added that such an uprising would be started by the PKK and include FETÖ as well as nine leftist groups along with FETÖ supporter groups.
Furthermore, the FETÖ–Daesh affiliation was revealed in the report after testimony from the Daesh terrorist Abu Haidar Mohammad al-Sulaiman taken on July 8, 2016 in Şanlurfa after being captured. According to his statements included in the report, "Daesh had moved explosives into the country [Turkey] in accordance with FETÖ's orders." Al-Sulaiman further added that the information on explosives was conveyed to an intelligence officer named Elvan Yüzbaşı via Hüseyin İpek. As part of the government's investigation into FETÖ, the so-called intelligence officer Elvan Yüzbaşı was identified as gendarmerie senior chief petty officer in Şanlıurfa province İrfan Çetinkaya.
