EP rapporteur: FETÖ has influence over EP decisions

European Parliament's Turkey rapporteur Kati Piri revealed that the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) exerts influence over decisions made at the EP, during her visit to the Turkish capital.Piri visited the Turkish Parliament, held meetings with politicians during her visit to Ankara and made the striking remark after receiving some harsh criticism about FETÖ and the PKK. He defended the EP, saying the current relations between Turkey and the European Union did not solely rely on the EP.Pointing out the existence of FETÖ's powerful lobby in the EP, Piri said, "Your enemy [FETÖ] exerts influence over the decision makings regarding Turkey."The EU director of the Gülenist Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), one of the most active Gülen-linked groups, openly confessed in August that they had "particularly targeted" Belgian members of EP who had opposed Turkey's EU accession.Gülenist Tuskon's EU director Serdar Yeşilyurt said they had "curried favor with" the center-right EPP, which is the largest group in the EP.In addition, highly placed sources at the European Commission and EP told Daily Sabah last November that FETÖ had funded dozens of trips for EP members as well as EC staff to Turkey in order to develop stronger relationships with high-level EU officials. They later used these connections to leak Turkey's EU progress report and manipulate its contents.
