Justice minister says FETÖ behind decision to ban Daily Sabah in EP

Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ recently speaking to Sabah daily said that the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) is definitely behind the decision to ban the distribution of Daily Sabah in the European Parliament (EP), noting that Daily Sabah has effectively removed the deceitful "masks" of European countries while adding that EP President Antonio Tajani simply cannot stand a difference in opinion.

Regarding the EP's controversial stance on Turkey, which politicians say does not coincide with European values, Justice Minister Bozdağ stressed that the EP has violated the freedom of the press, freedom of speech and the principles of state law by banning Daily Sabah. Bozdağ also said: "European politicians do not seem to understand Turkey. They are acting under the influence of terror groups, such as FETÖ and the PKK." The justice minister also stated that these terrorist groups have bribed some European politicians to point the finger at Turkey.

Additionally, Bozdağ highlighted that FETÖ allocates a budget for select journalists in Europe to publish defamatory news about Turkey. The results of their efforts are reflected in the rising anti-Turkey rhetoric in Europe. "Ninety out of 102 senators are signing a document in favor of FETÖ. Check out the [financial] aid being transferred from FETÖ to these people [the European journalists]," Bozdağ stated.

Furthermore, the minister also noted that the law depriving those affiliated with FETÖ of Turkish citizenship has been enacted to trigger hostility against Turkey in Europe.
