PKK-affiliated People's Defense Forces (YPG) opened fire on several military outposts along the Turkish-Syrian border on Wednesday, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said in a statement.

The latest attack by the terrorists came around 04:20 p.m. local time when the group targeted two outposts located in the Kızıltepe district of southeastern Mardin province. Half an hour later another nearby outpost was hit by mortar fire, destroying two Turkish military vehicles.

Prior to that, another wave of harassment fire struck Afrin in northwestern Syria, with mortars launched from PYD/YPG-held areas hitting a police vehicle.

Turkish units stationed in the area retaliated in kind to the attacks, the statement elaborated

The first attack of the day was carried out around 9:00 a.m. local time from the YPG-held area, which targeted a military outpost in the Hassa district. No injuries resulted from the attack, the statement said, however considerable material damage took place in the outpost.

A second mortar fire came from regime-held territory and landed near a military outpost in the Yayladağı district. No injuries or damages occurred from the attack as well.
