2 PKK terrorists killed, 7 soldiers injured in southeastern Turkey


Two PKK terrorists were killed and seven Turkish soldiers were injured Thursday n an anti-terror operation in southeastern Hakkari province's Çukurca district, the military said.

The military said in a statement that it conducted airstrikes against eight PKK targets in Hakkari after determining several terrorists crossing the border from Iraq. Two PKK soldiers were killed and seven soldiers injured after the terrorist group carried out a simultaneous attack in the territory, the army said.

A large cache of weaponry and rocket launchers were also seized during the operation, the statement added.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
